Nowadays, there are almost no new Text-Based MMOs. This type of graphics is not the most convenient for development, and the result was sometimes quite messy, but it worked sufficiently. Some MMOs used ASCII graphics, which were quite colourful and funny. Everything depended only on the imagination of the developer. More hardcore variants did not have illustrations at all. Some Text-Based MMOs had well-drawn images for inventory items and headpieces to somehow decorate the game. The Text-Based MMOs always distinguished by a well-developed plot, exciting quests and an unusual, almost bookish atmosphere. Since user computers were starting to get excellent graphics support at the time, developers who wanted to attract an audience had to rely on other aspects of the game. Most of the Text-Based MMO Games were created at late 80s-early 90s.
